Interceptor AD-1: The armor of India's skies, enemy ballistic missiles will be destroyed at a height of 100 km from the earth

With the successful test of interceptor AD-1, India has taken ballistic missile defense to the 'next level'. The interceptor AD-1 can detect and destroy long-range ballistic missiles and aircraft both in and outside the Earth's atmosphere.

India has achieved another success in the direction of repairing the ballistic missile defense system. Now India has taken the ability to fly enemy ballistic missiles and aircraft in the sky to the 'next level'. Considering the fact that Pakistan and China developed ballistic equipment, this is an important success for India.

 In this connection, India on Tuesday conducted the first successful flight test of Phase-II Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Interceptor AD-1 with Large Kill Altitude Bracket from APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha. The missile was named by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO).

                                   

What is Interceptor AD-1

The Interceptor AD-1 is a long-range interceptor missile designed for both low exo-atmospheric and endo-atmospheric interception of long-range ballistic missiles as well as aircraft. That is, the interceptor AD-1 can detect and destroy long-range ballistic missiles and aircraft both in and outside the Earth's atmosphere.

 The interceptor missile is an anti-ballistic missile. It has been developed by DRDO to destroy ballistic missiles like Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM) of the enemy country.

With the successful test of this missile, India has got another shield in the sky. The Ministry of Defense has said that weapons of all missile defense systems present at different places in the country were used to conduct this test. These weapons have been strategically deployed at different intelligence places in the country.

According to the Ministry of Defense, this interceptor is powered by a two-stage solid motor. The interceptor has an indigenously developed advanced control system, navigation to accurately guide the missile to the target. This interceptor is guided by an algorithm.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that this interceptor missile is available with very few countries of the world and its advanced technology is unique. With this, India has taken its capability to destroy enemy ballistic missiles to the next level.

Suitable for low exo-atmospheric and endo-atmospheric interception.  

Interceptor AD-1 can destroy enemy ballistic missiles in the Earth's atmosphere within a radius of 20-40 km (endo-atmospheric) from the Earth's surface. Apart from this, the interceptor AD-1 can destroy enemy ballistic weapons even in the exo-atmospheric (exo-atmospheric) altitude of 50-150 km from the earth. In this way, the interceptor AD-1 protects India from the enemy's ballistic attacks in the sky.

                                 

Accurate on all parameters.

All the data obtained from all the missiles during this test flight were as per the expectations.  Radar, telemetry and electro-optical tracking stations deployed to capture flight data confirmed this.

India has been working on defense cover for 22 years.

Let us tell you that in 2000, India started developing anti-ballistic missile through DRDO. This was the period when Pakistan and China were preparing ballistic equipment. It is believed that India has achieved this phase by 2010. The result of this was that India prepared defense shields based on Prithvi missiles.

                                 

After this India started developing the second phase anti ballistic missile. These were missiles that could destroy intermediate range ballistic missiles. India is preparing these anti-ballistic missiles on the lines of America's Theater High-Altitude Area Defense system.
